
Taiwan-born, New Zealand-raised, and previously UK-based, Amy Chang is a collaborative pianist, répétiteur, and vocal coach based in the Netherlands. In addition to a busy schedule as a freelancer, Amy is a vocal coach at Codarts University of the Arts in Rotterdam, and was the interim music staff/artistic bureau at De Nederlandse Reisopera (2025-26), interim vocal coach at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam (2025), Studio Répétiteur at Dutch National Opera (2022-24), and a Britten-Pears Young Artist (2022-23). An alumna of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the University of Auckland, Amy was retained as répétiteur and vocal coach at both institutions upon graduation, and have since played at Dutch National Opera (2022-Present), De Nederlandse Reisopera (2024-present), Opera Zuid (2023, 2024), If Opera (2022), Byre Opera (2022), Edinburgh Studio Opera (2021-22), Mahogany Opera (2022), and British Youth Opera (2020, 2021).
On the concert platform, Amy has performed song recitals and concerts at prestigious venues in the Netherlands, including Het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Concertgebouw de Vereeniging in Nijmegen, Muziekgebouw in Eindhoven, and Theater aan het Parade in Den Bosch. An established Lied Duo with soprano Elenora Hu, together they were semifinalists and winners of the Vriendin van het Lied Engagement Prize at the 2023 International Vocal Competition ‘s-Hertogenbosch (LiedDuo), and they perform specially curated programmes together regularly throughout the Netherlands. Competition accolades from the UK include semifinalists at the Jack Donnelly Memorial Mozart Singing Competition with Jonathan Forbes Kennedy, the Rodney Gibson Early Music Prize with Emily Hodkinson at the 2021 Patricia Routledge National English Song Competition, and the 2021 Elgar/Spedding Memorial Lieder Prize with James Quilligan.
